IndyCall advertises calls to Indian phone numbers funded by advertisements. That does not mean unlimited calls, guaranteed connections or identical availability in every country. The first question for an Indian reader is whether the official service is available where they are using it.
Quick Overview
| Question | What to know |
|---|---|
| Original app | Indycall, an ad-funded calling service |
| India availability | The developer reports restrictions affecting the Indian Play listing |
| Free-call limit | Check the duration offered for the actual number you dial |
| Alternative | Yolla is a separate paid service for supported mobile and landline destinations |
| Emergency use | Keep your normal emergency calling method available |
Is IndyCall available in India?
The developer’s current FAQ says the app is unavailable in the Indian Google Play store and purchases from India are blocked. Our earlier India-region listing check also did not return the old listing. A public listing remains visible in another regional view, so describing the app as globally removed would be inaccurate.
If you cannot obtain IndyCall through your supported official store, choose an available service that meets your calling needs. The alternative below is a different product with its own charges, not a new version of IndyCall. We have not installed either app or completed test calls for this guide.
How the advertised free calls work
The official IndyCall website describes choosing a contact or dialing a number, viewing an advertisement, then connecting the call. Its public store description says the permitted duration depends on the caller’s location and the number dialed, with the limit shown when placing the call.
The same description allows for repeated connection attempts and explains that optional “indyminutes” can remove advertisements. Those minutes may be purchased or earned through advertiser offers. Therefore, an old article cannot promise a fixed daily allowance or that watching one advertisement always produces a successful call.
What to check before using an ad-funded service
- Time allowance: Look at the actual call limit for your destination. Do not confuse available promotional minutes with unlimited calling.
- Offer conditions: Read requirements before completing a survey, installing another app or purchasing an extra. Your time and any information you provide also matter.
- Internet cost: Include mobile data or roaming charges in your comparison, even when no separate calling fee is shown.
- Caller identity: Tell your contact if the call may arrive from a different displayed number. A temporary caller number is not proof of anonymity.
IndyCall’s privacy policy and terms describe processing dialed numbers, location, device information and call details, alongside advertising partners. They also exclude emergency calling. Read these details before granting access or relying on the service for important conversations.
Yolla is a separately priced alternative
Yolla on Google Play currently has a live public listing. Its official India calling page offers a way to check rates for supported Indian mobile and landline numbers. Calls of this kind normally use credit; the recipient can answer through their ordinary telephone service without installing Yolla.
This is useful when the other person cannot join an app-to-app call, but it is not a replacement free-minutes offer. Confirm the specific destination rate and your device/account eligibility before adding money. Yolla uses your existing phone number, with registration verification, rather than supplying IndyCall’s temporary caller identity.
Choose based on the recipient’s access
If both people can use the same internet-calling app, app-to-app calling may be sufficient. If the other person only has a regular phone, compare the current internet-calling rate with your carrier’s plan. For any paid option, begin with only the amount you actually need and check the receipt and balance. Keep normal emergency calling available separately.
Reader Recommendation
For readers in India, start with a calling service available in your official app store and compare it with the plan you already pay for. An advertised free call is not useful if access is unsupported or the connection repeatedly fails.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a visible Play web page mean I can install it?
No. A public page can be visible while installation is unavailable for your country, account or device. Check the store on the phone you intend to use.
Is Yolla a free replacement for Indycall?
No. Calls to ordinary telephone numbers normally use paid credit or a paid bundle. Read the current rate and any renewal terms before purchasing.
Will removing the app cancel a subscription?
No. If you have a recurring plan, cancel it through the billing provider as a separate step. Uninstalling removes the app from the device.
How to Uninstall IndyCall or Yolla
Open Settings → Apps, select IndyCall or Yolla, then tap Uninstall. Remove each separately if both are installed. If you paid for a recurring plan in the replacement service, cancel through its billing provider as well; uninstalling alone does not cancel a Google Play subscription.
