Cx File Explorer is an Android file manager for organising files and connecting to supported storage services. Use its official Google Play listing rather than an unverified “mod” or “pro APK” download. Before moving or cleaning files, make a separate copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

This overview uses the publisher’s listing and privacy policy. It is not a hands-on speed test, a security audit or a verification of every cloud connection on every Android version.

Official download and app identity

The official Google Play listing uses the name Cx File Explorer and package com.cxinventor.file.explorer. Open it on your device to see availability and the current offered version. We avoid quoting a fixed APK size or minimum Android version because those details must match the package offered to your device.

The listing describes file browsing, copying, moving, renaming, archive operations, storage analysis, a recycle bin and installed-app management. It also lists network access using FTP, FTPS, SFTP, SMB and WebDAV, and identifies phones, tablets and Android TV as supported device types. These are publisher-described capabilities, not our benchmark results.

Choose the right operation: copy, move or delete

Copy is the better starting point when you are making another copy of a valuable file. After the operation finishes, open the destination file and check it before considering removal of the source. A progress indicator alone is not a substitute for checking that you copied the correct item.

Move changes where you expect to find the item. Confirm both source and destination before accepting the operation, especially when multiple folders have similar names. Avoid large batch moves until you understand the folder structure.

Delete deserves the most care. A storage analyser can show large items, but size does not tell you whether an item is expendable. Review duplicates individually where practical. Do not assume every location or operation can be recovered from the app’s recycle bin; keep independent backups.

Cloud storage: what the documentation establishes

The publisher’s privacy policy names Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive in its cloud-data discussion. That supports describing cloud integrations as part of its documented design. It does not verify that every provider’s current sign-in flow works on your particular installation.

Check the services actually offered in the installed app and review the access requested by the provider’s authorisation screen. Connect only an account you are authorised to use. Start with a non-sensitive test file before managing a large collection, and confirm where a deletion or move will take effect.

If a cloud connection fails, preserve the exact error and ask the publisher whether the current release supports that provider. Do not give a password or login code to a third-party “setup helper”. A file manager should not require you to disclose secrets to a person offering support.

Network storage and shared folders

For a NAS or shared computer, identify the server, supported connection method and account permissions before connecting. Use an account limited to the folders you need. Do not expose a home file server to the public internet merely to make a phone connection convenient.

Test reading and copying a small file first. If you need write access, confirm that you are in the intended folder before creating or changing anything. A network error is not evidence that a transfer completed, so check the destination after an interrupted operation.

Permissions and privacy

A file manager can need broad access to perform file operations, so “no aggressive permissions” is not an adequate assessment. Read the actual Android request and relate it to your task. Google’s permission guide explains how to review access in Settings → Apps → the app → Permissions.

The publisher’s policy describes device and usage information, linked cloud access and circumstances for sharing information with service providers. Read it alongside the current Play disclosures. We have not independently audited those practices and do not describe the app as guaranteed secure or completely private.

Android folder restrictions and Quest claims

The listing notes that operating-system restrictions can limit access to the Android/data folder on some devices. A folder not opening is therefore not necessarily a damaged file. Use the owning app’s supported export or backup function when you need its data; do not assume a file manager can access every private app folder.

The listing’s supported-device description does not establish official Meta Quest compatibility. We therefore do not provide a Quest installation promise or direct readers to unofficial APK mirrors. Ask the publisher about your exact device if it is outside the documented device types.

Do you need a modified or “pro” APK?

A download page using those labels does not prove that it comes from the publisher or provides a real extra feature. Identify the missing function first, then check the official app and publisher support. There is no verified premium-unlock benefit established by this guide.

Also distinguish managing an APK file from backing up an entire app. A copied installation file does not by itself preserve account data, settings or private app files. Use the original app’s documented backup process for information you need to restore.

How to Uninstall Cx File Explorer

Finish pending transfers, verify important copies and disconnect cloud or network accounts you no longer want linked. Check any items you are relying on the recycle bin to recover before removal. Uninstalling is not a substitute for reviewing permissions on the cloud provider’s account page.

Then use Android Settings → Apps → Cx File Explorer → Uninstall, or follow Google Play’s removal instructions. Keep independent backups of important files regardless of which file manager you choose.

Reader recommendation: Cx is worth evaluating when you need its documented local or network file operations. Start with a small copy task, verify the result and grant only the access your workflow requires. Choose based on the function demonstrated on your device, not an unsupported speed or safety ranking.
