If you are searching for Xender APK in India, check its regulatory history before looking for an installer. Xender appears in the Indian government’s June 2020 list of blocked apps. This review did not identify an official notice reversing that decision. A third-party APK page is not proof that the app has been cleared for India.

Reviewed: 16 October 2026. This page replaces earlier installation advice that omitted that context. It also removes unsupported speed figures and guarantees about compatibility. For the practical goal of moving your own photos, videos and documents, the alternatives below are more useful than an unverified download link.

What the official India notice says

The 29 June 2020 government announcement lists Xender among 59 apps subject to blocking action under section 69A of the Information Technology Act. This is a historical official record, not a live test of every app store or device.

Store availability can differ by country and account. Seeing a download elsewhere does not establish Indian approval, and a similar name does not necessarily identify the same publisher. This guide does not offer APK mirrors or instructions to bypass regional restrictions.

Choose a transfer method for the task

Your taskStarting point
Files between nearby Android phonesCheck for Quick Share in the system share menu.
Files between Android and WindowsUse a compatible USB data cable or supported Quick Share for Windows.
Send files to someone far awayUse a trusted cloud service with carefully chosen access permissions.
Move an app to a new phoneInstall through its official store or use the phone’s supported migration process.

Choose based on both devices, the file size and who should receive the content. A transfer tool is not automatically a complete phone backup.

Use Quick Share between nearby Android devices

Google’s Quick Share help explains that the feature was previously called Nearby Share and is available on Android 6 and later, with device-specific differences.

  1. Open the photo or document and choose Share, then Quick Share.
  2. Keep the receiving device nearby and unlocked; open its Receive mode if it cannot be found.
  3. Select the intended device and let the recipient accept the request.
  4. After completion, open the received file and leave Receive mode when finished.

Enable Bluetooth as directed. For connection problems, consult the linked device guidance. Cross-platform options differ: some routes use internet access, so do not assume every Quick Share method is entirely offline.

Use a USB cable for Android-to-Windows transfers

Google’s USB file-transfer instructions describe connecting an unlocked phone to the computer, opening the USB notification and selecting File Transfer. Copy the required files in the computer’s file window, then eject the device before disconnecting.

If the computer only charges the phone, check the selected USB mode and try a cable that supports data. Some cables are charge-only. Follow your device’s instructions if the menus differ.

Check the copy before deleting the original

Open several received files, including the largest video and any important PDF. Check that the expected pages, audio and images are present. Compare the file count and names when transferring a folder.

Do not delete the source immediately after seeing a progress bar complete. Keep it until you have confirmed the destination copy is usable. For important documents, retain a separate backup rather than depending on one phone.

Sending the original file and sending a compressed image through another app can produce different results. If original quality matters, inspect the sending option and the received file instead of assuming every sharing method preserves the same content.

Receiving an APK does not make it a trusted app

An APK is an Android installation package. Receiving it from a friend does not establish its publisher, integrity or compatibility. Transferring a package also does not mean that private app data, subscriptions or login sessions have moved with it.

If you need the app on another phone, start with its official store listing and the developer’s supported backup or migration instructions. Do not disable protection merely because a file-transfer guide says an installer should work.

An installation failure can have several causes. Instead of repeatedly granting permissions, check the official app’s device requirements. This page cannot validate a file labelled “Xender old version” or “mod APK.”

Privacy checks before sending files

  • Confirm the recipient in person or through a trusted channel; similar device names can be confusing.
  • Select only the intended files rather than an entire folder containing identity or financial records.
  • Review cloud-link access before sharing; use restricted access when the file is private.
  • Decline unexpected incoming files and close temporary receiving modes afterward.

For a large collection, send a small test first. This helps establish the destination folder and whether the recipient can open the file before committing to a longer transfer.

How to uninstall Xender on Android

First find and back up any received documents you need to keep. Then open Settings, go to Apps, select Xender and choose Uninstall. Menu names vary by manufacturer.

Do not assume every received file will either disappear or remain: storage locations differ. Check your file manager before removing folders, and delete only files you no longer need. Review any installation permissions you previously enabled for file-sharing or browser apps.

Frequently asked questions

Is “Xender APK 2026” an official version name?

The year in a search query does not verify a release. Check the publisher and official release information instead of trusting a filename.

Does no internet mean no Wi-Fi?

No. A local wireless transfer can use Wi-Fi technology without using an internet connection. Requirements depend on the method selected.

Can every phone share directly with an iPhone?

Do not assume that. Cross-platform support varies; check the current official instructions for both devices.

Is Xender confirmed to be unblocked in India?

This review found the official blocking notice but did not verify an official reversal. It should not be presented as a confirmed India download recommendation.
