The original YouTube Vanced project was discontinued in March 2022. TeamVanced’s own repository states this, and its Vanced Manager repository is archived. A website advertising a new “latest Vanced APK” is not, by that label alone, evidence of a release maintained by the original team.
This guide distinguishes that discontinued project from the official YouTube app and its current paid options. It does not authenticate a third-party installer or promise that an old Vanced build still works.

Premium does not remove every promotion from a creator’s video. Embedded sponsorships and creator-added promotions can remain, and YouTube identifies exceptions for some live events and other content. Downloads are an in-service viewing feature, not a promise of unrestricted permanent video files.
Premium Lite Has Different Limits
YouTube’s current help page says Premium Lite offers most videos ad-free, with background play and downloads for most videos. Those background and download benefits exclude Shorts and music content, including some videos containing music from partners.
Lite can still show ads on music, Shorts and during browsing or search. It does not include YouTube Music Premium. If your main aim is background music listening, compare these exclusions with full Premium before choosing a plan. Check whether Lite is offered to your account and location.

- For paid benefits, open the membership offers inside YouTube or its official website.

Open Android Settings → Apps, select the old Vanced app you installed, and choose Uninstall. Check the selected app name carefully; removing the official YouTube app is a separate choice.
If YouTube came with the phone, a full uninstall may be unavailable; follow your manufacturer’s disable-app guidance if you want to stop using it. Removing an app does not cancel a Google Play membership subscription.
